Sunlights® Wet Line

Anyone who’s ever had their hair colored knows how frustrating it is to spend so much time and money on your hair, only to have lackluster shampoo cause it to fade out and look terrible almost as soon as you get it done. I assume anyway, I’ve never colored my hair - I have to be chased with scissors for just a haircut.

I do however know the value in good shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. So does Candy Shaw. That’s why she formulated a line of just those items so not only can stylists put her years of experience to work behind their chairs, but they can send their clients home with products that will keep their work looking beautiful for weeks and months to come.

To bring this wet line to life, I created a system that currently encompasses 4 toning shampoos, 2 toning conditioners, 2 daily use shampoos, and 2 matching conditioners. Since this line is for both consumers and stylists, every product had to be immediately identifiable as Sunlights, but stand out enough to appeal to their guests.

Each 12oz shampoo and conditioner comes in a custom die cut box with spot varnished accents. I also worked with our manufacturers to custom formulate colored accent pieces for every cap and lid across the line with the exception of Spritz and Seal. Elegantly tapered bottles and a glossy, faintly pearlescent label complete the distinguished air of the materials.

The design system retains the same playful attitude and liberal use of white space of the professional line. Icons lend an infographic feel to the boxes and explain to consumers the purpose of each product’s claim ingredients while big, eye catching typography and use of specific colors differentiates each line and SKU.

I like these products so much I even use Rosé and Blush daily myself.
